Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Hilltop Venture Group, LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company ("Hilltop," "we," "us"), collects, uses, and shares information through hilltopventuregroup.com (the "Site") and through inquiries you send us from the Site or by email.

It does not cover information we receive while providing services to clients. That information is governed by the engagement agreement with each client.

Information we collect

Information you give us

If you use the contact form or email us, we collect your name, your business name, your email address, your phone number if you choose to give it, what you'd like help with, and whatever you choose to include in your message. Please don't send confidential or sensitive information, such as financial statements, account numbers, government identification numbers, or health information, in an initial inquiry.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, the Site's hosting and security provider processes technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, the referring page, and the date and time of the request. This is used to deliver the Site, keep it secure, and diagnose problems.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure aggregate traffic to the Site, such as which pages are viewed and how visitors arrive. It is a privacy-focused, cookieless measurement service. It does not set cookies, does not identify individual visitors, and does not track you across other websites. Separately, our hosting and security provider may set strictly necessary cookies to protect the Site from automated abuse. Those are not used for advertising or to track you across other websites. We do not use advertising pixels, social media plugins, or advertising networks on the Site.

How we use information

• To read and respond to your inquiry, and to follow up about a possible engagement.
• To keep a record of our business communications.
• To operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Site, including preventing spam and abuse.
• To comply with legal obligations and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

We don't add you to a marketing mailing list because you contacted us. If we ever send marketing email, it will include a way to unsubscribe.

How we share information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for targeted (cross-context behavioral) advertising. We share information only as follows:

• Service providers that process information on our behalf to run our business: website hosting and security, email and productivity software, our customer relationship management (CRM) system, and internal notification tools that alert us to new inquiries. They may use the information only to provide those services to us.
• Legal and safety reasons, when we believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or is needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of Hilltop, our clients, or others.
• Business transfers, as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to this Policy.
• With your consent or at your direction.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiry information for as long as it is needed to respond to you and to keep reasonable records of our business communications. If an inquiry becomes an engagement, the information becomes part of the client relationship. We periodically review and delete inquiry records that are no longer needed. Technical logs kept by our hosting provider are retained for limited periods under that provider's practices.

How we protect it

The Site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections, and access to the systems that hold inquiry information is limited to people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you may ask us to stop contacting you. Email clientservices@hilltopventuregroup.com with your request. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it, and we may keep information where the law requires or permits us to.

Residents of certain states, including New Jersey and California, may have additional rights under their state's privacy laws. Where those laws apply to us, we will honor requests as they require and respond within the time they allow. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our response and asking us to reconsider; we'll tell you the outcome of the appeal in writing.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Because we don't track visitors across websites, sell personal information, or share it for targeted advertising, the Site operates the same way whether or not your browser sends a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal. No third parties collect information about your online activities over time and across websites through the Site.

Children

The Site is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Visitors outside the United States

Hilltop is based in the United States, and information you send us is processed and stored in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those where you live. If you contact us from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your information to respond to your request and take steps before a possible engagement, and for our legitimate interest in running and securing our business. You may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your information, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll post the new version on this page and change the effective date above. If a change is material, we'll note it at the top of this page for a reasonable period.
